The unofficial word on the street is the plans for the T.L.O., (Turkey Liberation Organization) revolt have been grounded until next Thanksgiving. the grumps rallied to start a new organization and have abandoned the Dog-in-the-box-give-away. Apparently you need to start organizing months before Thanksgiving instead of the night before. Thousands if not millions of turkey were harmed in this genocide of fowl-dom. More details to follow. |

| 2-7-04 - | dog-in-a-box-give-away disaster, mishap of hijinks? | |||
|
Disturbing news has found its way to our doorstep. Our much anticipated 1st annual dog-in-a-box-give-away met a swift and mysterious end today. Upon returning to the grumps compound we immediately noticed that havoc had run amuck. The "dog-in-a-box" that we had fondly referred to as "poopsie," allegedly ate his way out of his corrugated castle and proceeded to relieve himself profusely. "Poopsie" then broke out of the building using (what the authorities are terming) "miraculous unknown canine techniques." The liberation took place sometime during our 1st annual dog-in-a-box-give-away performance. investigators feel that it may have been an inside job. No animal extremist groups have taken credit nor have been ruled out as suspects. A moment of silence should be observed for the winner of the 1st annual dog-in-a-box-give-away, Jody Deroche. Miss Deroche had just received a small kitten (oddly enough presented to her in a lunch box.) Sweet anxiety turned quickly to fright and despair upon hearing the news, a replacement dog will not be provided to try to help move past the event for those involved. |

Many of you are already aware The Grumps ® are all animal lovers. That's why we've decided in the spirit of the new year, to have a give away. One winner will be chosen at random on 1/30/03 at the grog in Newburyport, MA. (Prize drawing time TBA) One lucky winner will be chosen to receive one stray dog (of our choice from an unknown location) in a cardboard box. This will surely be a fun filled event for all ages. So come on down to the grog and enjoy great food & beverages, and maybe you will catch lady luck's eye. (Due to time limitations and financial constraints, we can not be held responsible for the dogs general health
conditions, disobedience, temperance, overall appearance or behavior.)

Well, lets just say it was arctic! - The weekend was a blast. We helped a guy get lucky, tested fire code boundaries, and the sheets smelt like fish. Ah, those three events were 100% completely separate, I assure you. (Luckily I didn't mention the extension cord and the van.) - Quickly moving on. We finally had an appreciative audience to "the five little ducks." The average age was six years old, but... wow! This just isn't getting any better. We don't even cover The Who. - Special mention to Chris & Jody Tarr who traveled up from Connecticut to see us. Chris says it was all for the bands morale. Our sources have revealed, it took over two hours to thaw the frozen grin off his face. (Morale? Chris that's not the image the band is trying to go for.) - Frank Hopkins graciously brought his recording equipment. There will be mp3 versions of various originals posted soon. Frank wants us to give a shout out to his hot ass.

| Taping Policy - | Not just masking, packing, nor duct anymore | |||

The Grumps ® is a 'taper-friendly' band. We greatly encourage any and all to come to a show, set up (audio and/or video) let the tape roll and enjoy. All we ask of any potential tapers, is to provide us with a copy of your recording(s) for our personal archives. Soundboard patches, for the time being, will be available on a 'first come, first serve' basis. For a list of upcoming shows, click on the 'gigs' button at the top of the page. If you would like to tape an up coming show please for more info.
Please show up at least one hour before the show.
This will allow us to help organize set up and hopefully avoid the headless chicken scenario.
Please bring appropriate cables, adapters, extension cord, etc. to make it easier for all involved
